Discussion

Miyashita-san is working on improving CCL and synching it to the recent FSF, but there is no spec for this so I don't know what it actually means. I will be communicating with him, but as far as I know this work is proceeding in such a way that it does not change APIs or non-error semantics of currently correct code. Besides general cleanup and some extensions amounting to "syntactic sugar", it also permits use of his Mule-UCS package on very recent XEmacsen to read and write Unicode streams.

I don't see this as having great impact even on Mule XEmacsen.

As of December 28 I have not received a response from himi.
